Spent last weekend 4th of July with all my daughters and both my grandaughters. Had a big second birthday party for Miss Vivian, there are now 5 children in the annual 4th party at Tahoe. There were over twenty people at the party including both of Vivians Godmothers, carrie and crista. Stayed at Lorindas home in south shore, with Sherry and Jerry, Lorinda was the was perfect host. Sara and crew stayed at Ceder Glen as always in Tahoe Vista. Iggy and Allison were up with both kids, Maggie, Mark and Vivian had a great time playing together. Been very busy last few months. I have spent the last few months emptying out my shop, 18 years of crap collected. It took forever to empty it out. But I cut my overhead a lot. Spent Thanksgiving in Kingsberg, New Years in Vegas. Went back to Kingsberg in January for Manfredi xmas lots of fun, and got to go back to kingsberg a month later for Rich's sister Linda's surprise 50th birthday party. They are all wonderful people and have made me part of the family. Of course every time in Kingsberg I get to spend time with my grand daughter Miss Viv who is the apple of my eye.
geenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01019199782005552094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494149456241262526.post-87756149684847662022008-10-14T10:41:00.000-07:002008-10-14T10:53:27.655-07:00USC WEEKENDLong time no post. The weekend of 28/29 June we had 1st bday with Riches family . His Mom 2 sisters and his niece. With Sara, Rich,Viv, Jenn and me. We had a great time. Viv s favorite toy was a lion which roars and has wheels so she can push it all over the place, Uncle Bob, Richs brother got it for her. She loved her cake had it from eyebrows to chin.
I so enjoy Riches family they treat me like one of the family.
On the following week end the 4th, the rest of the group was up. Mel&Grant and Ziggy from Seattle, Wash. Grants parents Jerome and Pamela from Texas, Fort worth I think, Jenn from Tuscon Az, Brian from Orange county Ca, Sara and Rich from L.A. Kerry from S.F. Crista and Jeff from Livermore, Ms Lizabeth and me from S.J. a great group of people. We watched the fireworks on the beach Thursday night at Kings Beach Viv loved them, Friday the 4th we went over to the condo M&G were staying at in Tahoe city. Both kids and adults enjoyed the fireworks. Had a BBQ and an evening of visiting.
Saturday had Vivs second Birthday party, she enjoyed it as much as the first. Sara had a Pinata which was great fun. We took hundreds of pictures, posted on flicker
It was a great week, Sara, Jenn and I stayed up one night until 4 in the morning
just talking, about family, sports, history, politics and any other subject that came up. We havn't done that in years, it was so much fun. The only thing wrong with the week was it was over to soon.
geenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01019199782005552094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494149456241262526.post-12074331665887657482008-05-13T00:15:00.000-07:002008-05-13T00:43:52.180-07:00UPDATEIts been a long time since I have added anything to this blog. Just been busy, have spent a lot of time with my granddaughter. She is the light of my life now. Spent a weekend in Kings burg with her and Rich and Sara, and Rich's family. We went to a neat car show downtown, saw some beautiful cars, including my ultimate dream car, a 56 Chevy Bel Air coupe, two tone cream and salmon.
Was down in L.A. for Easter with Sara Rich and Miss Viv as Mel calls her. Mel and Grant and Ziggy were there along with Bryan. Went to Farmers Market for brunch. Tried to go to Pinks again but couldn't get within a block of it. Have had a horrible cold and bronchial infection for about a week and a half. Just wiped me out, no energy, couldn't sleep, just miserable . Saturday felt much better. Went to office and felt like I accomplished more in a few hours than I had all week.
Later in afternoon was restless and bored, I hadn't done anything in weeks. So I took a drive up to the Chicken Ranch in Jamestown. Spent a few hours watching the people and playing nickel slots, after about an hour and a half I hit a 7 out of 7 on 4 card keno. Made my whole weekend.
Went over to Black oak in Sonora played a few hours and had Breakfast late. The restaurant
in Black oak serves some of the best food of any Indian casino in California. We also had Sara and Rich's best friends Mel, Grant and their son Mark along. Great people, we did the Monterrey Aquarium Saturday and 17 mile drive Sunday. Monterrey Peninsula is one of the prettiest places on earth. Grant made a great statement when we were standing out on Cypress Point watching the surf, sand, clouds and rocks of that stretch of coast, "Its good for the soul"
<its> And that says it all. We stayed at the Ramada Carmel Hill small clean nice hotel, very reasonable . Close to everything, food was excellent the whole weekend. Sara found a great breakfast bistro Saturday morning, Rich found Pizza Sat/night in Pacific Grove. Sunday lunch in Carmel had some of the best Manhattan Clam chowder I've ever ate. Sunday night Rich and Grant found seafood in Pacific Grove. We also found several good bakeries over the weekend. I have posted several pictures on my Flicker so check them out. Monday came way to soon, but I had wonderful weekend with Miss Viv. Especially enjoyed my talks with Sara, we sit and talk about anything and everything.</its>geenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01019199782005552094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494149456241262526.post-53668607255212541002007-11-14T23:21:00.001-08:002007-11-14T23:21:59.120-08:00VIV & GRANDPA

VIV & GRANDPA
Originally uploaded by geener55
GRANDPA AND VIV AT THE FRIENDS THANKSGIVING BREAKFAST IN SAN CARLOS CA.. We went to a small Indian Restaurant food was excellent even though I was late, I took wrong turn and got lost.
After dinner Morgan showed me how to use my new digital camera. Camera was birthday present to myself, also a business expense as camera can be used to document findings on Termite reports. Next morning headed back to bay area, took off on side road towards Guarneville, on sweetwater springs road. Ended up on Russian river road and followed the Russian River to its mouth at Jenner. Spectacular scenery, beautiful river valley, spectacular fall colors, trees were all changing colors. Very rugged coastline.
Watched all the seals and sea lions along with flocks of brown Pelicans at the mouth of the river.
Turned south towards Bodega bay, fantastic views all the way to Bodega. Cute little towns and shops every couple of miles. Mad at myself because I forgot my California Road atlas, took wrong turn ended up in Petaluma, wanted to follow the coast back. Next time I am going to go north instead and take Hwy 1 all the way to Fort Bragg. All in all a nice quiet weekendgeenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01019199782005552094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494149456241262526.post-81172907198588230212007-10-18T22:12:00.000-07:002007-10-18T22:25:30.309-07:00EAGLE MOUNTAIN CASINOI was here once before a couple of years ago, it has expanded quite bit since I was here last time
but it is still a dumpy dusty dump. Went to Santa Monica Friday evening, wandered through shops and sights, had excellent dinner at Italian restaurant. Saturday went with the girls while they had their hair done, nice little village about mile from Sara's. Fascinating people watching, everything from overage pony tailed hippies to S/Cal
yuppies with sweater around neck, deck shoes, no socks. Very cosmopolitan. Every color, every race, every size. Mostly upper middle class, but the variety in one little village. I can see why Sara
loves living in LA. Me it is a great place to visit. Saturday night went to the Grove and Farmers Market. Sunday morning went to Pasadena City College for monthly flee market, its huge, and unlike our flee market in San Jose which is larger almost all of the stalls were private parties, in San Jose most of the stalls are there year round. Oroville nice little town, good motels, good food, nice park on River. Feather Falls older of two Casinos, crowded, always giving a car or boat away. Always crowded. Located about 15 miles west of Visalia, set out in the middle of the valley. Never had much luck here, strange layout. Appears to have been added onto several times. Must have started out as a bingo parlor. Not a place I would recommend.geenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01019199782005552094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494149456241262526.post-75727841704503571892007-08-01T21:45:00.000-07:002007-08-01T22:01:37.404-07:00Chukchansi

Forty miles east of Fresno. Huge place, very much like Texas station or Boulder station in Vegas. Clean, food good, not outstanding. Well set up. Lots of slots, table games and poker. Outstanding hotel, rooms very nice. Snack bar, bakery very good.
Always adding on, two lane road from Fresno, well patrolled, roads in good shape.

Mono Wind

Twenty miles south east of Chuckchansi, small out of the way casino, bingo parlor
Hard to find. Mostly slots , not a lot of them.

Table Mountain

Twenty miles west of Chuckchansi. Much larger casino than Mono, older than Chuckchansi. Crowded, mostly slots, older crowd. Never impressed me much
been there twice. Lots of people, all age groups. Lots of family's. Stop here mostly because its on the way to my favorite fishing areas, Caple Lake, Tahoe, Echo Lake. Place has really grown in last few years. The indians have used the money to build new homes, medical dental center, and rebuilt the infrastructure of the rancheria. Roads, drainage and other improvements. Place is always crowded, clean, pleasant
Easy access, well lighted. New food court added, mexican, italian, bbq, japanese.
Has late night grill, hot dogs, burgers, or breakfast. Pretty good place. Nearby Jackson fun place to shop, has the biggest and best used book store Ive ever seen.
geenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01019199782005552094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494149456241262526.post-39480718908109941042007-07-26T20:46:00.000-07:002007-07-30T09:22:00.465-07:00OPEN ROAD 11 Somebody suggested I review from my viewpoint the casinos in ca. Ive been to so here s the first and closest to home. Chicken ranch in Jamestown.

Small, basically a bingo parlor with some slot machines at one end. But great for watching people, all kinds, from bikers to seniors. The one thing most Indian casinos have in common is bad food. This place has a snack bar, grill, reminds me most of the old drive in movie snack bars. Cardboard and wax paper. The other thing common to almost all Indian casinos most of the patrons are over 50. Only about 200 slot machines in place. There are only 4 of the Game king, 4 card keno machines which are my favorite . If they are in use and don't look like one will be free
soon. I will some times drive over to the Black Oak in Toulumne. They have 11 of my machines
and some others I like. Food at Black Oak much better, this is a much larger casino and newer
more like a medium Reno or Vegas casino. What I like most about them is they are only about 2 hours from home and the people watching is facinatinggeenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01019199782005552094noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494149456241262526.post-53694264667616417652007-07-22T18:52:00.000-07:002007-07-22T19:13:15.461-07:00OPEN ROADWENT FOR A TRIP YESTERDAY, TRIED TO STAY OFF HIGHWAYS. LEFT TRACY DOWN GRANTLINE RD. INSTEAD OF GOING UP ONTO HWY 5 WENT ON CROSS COUNTRY. DOWN BY THE SAN JUAQUIN RIVER. TOOK KASSON RD ABOUT 10 MILES SOUTH.
SAW AN INTERESTING THING, A LARGE FARM ALONG RD, FOR ABOUT A MILE BETWEEN FIELDS OR PASTURES THERE WAS AN OPEN SPACE IN WHICH OLD CARS, TRUCKS, FARM EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER OLD MACHINERY WERE LEFT. THERE WERE VEHICLES FROM THE 1920'S TO THE 80'S JUST LEFT THERE TO RUST. VERY INTERESTING. THEN CROSSED THE SAN JUAQUIN AND DROVE THROUGH THE LITTLE TOWN OF RIPON. CLEAN LITTLE TOWN. ANOTHER LITTLE TOWN UP THE ROAD I DROVE THROUGH WAS FARMINGTON EAST OF STOCKTON. TOWN CONSISTS OF ABOUT SIX BUILDINGS, MOST INTERESTING IS GENERAL STORE DRUGSTORE. BUILDING BUILT IN 1880'S APPEARS, INTERESTING THING IS WHOLE BUILDING LEANS TO ONE SIDE, IT HAS 4X4 POSTS ANCHORED TO GROUND TO KEEP IT FROM LEANING MORE. BUT IT IS STILL IN USE AS A STORE. WILL ADD MORE LATERgeenerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01019199782005552094noreply@blogger.com1
